	A unique CCW beneficiary identifier field (BENE_ID)
	that is specific to the Chronic Condition Warehouse.  
	This field is encrypted prior to delivery to 
	researchers. The BENE_ID field is used to cross-
	reference data for each beneficiary across all claim	
	and assessment data files.

	This variable indicates the most
	recent calendar year used in the
	chronic condition definition.

	This variable indicates whether the
	beneficiary met the cohort criteria.

	SHORT NAME: COHORT

	Y = Met cohort criteria defined in
	    request. 

	Null = Met control criteria defined
	    in request (if applicable)


 FIRST COVERAGE   		DATE	   8

	This code specifies the first calendar
	year quarter in which the beneficiary
	had Medicare coverage.

	SHORT NAME:  FIRSTCOV

	Format = YYYYMMDD


 CHRONIC CONDITION FLAG   	CHAR	   1

	This code specifies Whether the beneficiary
	met the chronic condition algorithm
	criteria within the specified reference 
	period.

	0 = Neither claims nor coverage met
	1 = Claims met, coverage not met
	2 = Claims not met, coverage met
	3 = Claims and coverage met


 MIDYEAR FLAG   		CHAR	   1

	This code specifies Whether the beneficiary
	met the chronic condition algorithm
	criteria on July 1 of the specified
	reference period.

	0 = Neither claims nor coverage met
	1 = Claims met, coverage not met
	2 = Claims not met, coverage met
	3 = Claims and coverage met

	This code specifies the first calendar
	year quarter in which the beneficiary

	criteria.  The earliest possible value
